Tritschler
Having a rather uncommon surname got me interested in the family name, a few web searches and I found a few others around the world. Periodically, other Tritschlers' stumble across my name or pages and send me an email.
This page (and website) are maintained by Adrian Tritschler [1], but most of the information is from my father Tony [2].
Given sufficient time and resources, I (Adrian) will try and make available some of the family tree that my parents know about. My father Tony, is interested in our family history, below is a summary of what he has told me:
My full name is Thomas Anthony Tritschler [2] but I am usually called Tony. I was born in England, 28 Mar 1942 but we moved to Australia in 1967. (My older brother is called Joseph Fidel Tritschler).
My father, Thomas Fidel Tritschler [3], was a marine engineer and lived in England born 30 May 1903 died 16 Dec 1996.
His father was Joseph Tritschler [4], another marine engineer, in England b 30 Oct 1863 d 7 Jun 1928.
His father was Fidel Tritschler [5], a watchmaker, was born in 1834 and died 12 Jan 1907. We understand he was grew up in or near Frieburg and ran away from home, down the Rhine and travelled to England where he initially lived in London with an uncle of his, and then moved to Hull.
His father, in Germany, was also called Fidel Tritschler [6] but that is all we know of him.
Family history says that Fidel ran away to London because it was a Tritschler family tradition that all sons (or eldest sons) joined the army, or became some prince's bodyguard, and Fidel didn't want to and broke with his father on this and ran away from home. I am not sure how true this is — it has been passed down from father to son.
As you can see Fidel is a name that has stayed in our branch of the family for a long time.
I would be very pleased if your could tell me anything you know about the Tritschler name and family or possibly let me know the name and address of your friend who wrote about the Tritschler relationships. my brother Joe and his wife, who live in England have been doing a lot of research about our family but have not been able to find out anything more about the Tritschlers apart from what I have told you.
The only other thing we found out is that we read that the Tritschler name means “someone who is a spokesman” Do you know if that is true?
At one stage I started playing with some geneaology software at some point. Unfortunately I managed to delete it, but still have this as a static list of part of my family tree.
